Review of Tomorrow, When the War Began (2010) by Angelina C — 01 Jan 2011
Looks like this is a promising start to what will hopefully be a long-running Aussie franchise. It is based on the internationally best selling novel by John Marsden and in a way it reminded me of the 1984 movie Red Dawn, after all I grew up in the 80s.
Apparently this is an independent film, there was no big Hollywood money coming in, so it's all Australian funded however it does possess the look of a Hollywood blockbuster budget. Certain scenes are pretty juvenile, thus marred my opinion of this movie.
The action scenes are almost impressive, well-executed and intense, however when the plot further unfolds, the tension and believability drained away.
