Review of Tomorrow, When the War Began (2010) by Jeremy M — 25 Jan 2011
I really, really, really wanted to like this. The book series is a masterpiece so I suspect my expectations were a little overblown. The story is great, the action is awesome, in particular the scene where the garbage truck deals with the dune buggies, but the acting was more wooden than the Black Forest.
Still worth it for a look though, Caitlin Stasey was fantastic and Wally Lewis' son was alright I guess but the rest were like store mannequins. Cinematography and SFX was good and the locations were well chosen for the story.
The little Aussie action film that could, keep chugging away, I'm sure the yanks will lap this up after the Oprah special!
