Review of Tomorrow, When the War Began (2010) by Larry Y — 07 Sep 2012
Well-acted with decent action scenes, this film illustrates (for better or worse) Australian fears of outside invasion. There are certainly flaws: It is painfully obvious at times that it is directed toward teenagers, and the sense of realistic danger is often lacking.
Nonetheless, the inception, execution and resulting controversy all make this an interesting experience. One can only hope that the sequel and tertiary installment can meet or surpass it in quality.
