Review of Tomorrow, When the War Began (2010) by Arne A — 19 Sep 2012
The first of a series that's packed with potential. I thought the movie felt rushed, however, with the main themes becoming convoluted. The movie touched on many issues but failed to really drive any strong ideas through to the audience.
I hope the sequels are thought out more and shot in the same manner. The acting, considering the plot jumped around to different themes throughout, was fresh and the production quality was as close to Hollywood as you can get.
A lot of people criticize the story's "believability" but it's just about as believable as Red Dawn. I think there's a really good chance that this series can get hot internationally with just a little tweeking and more focus.
