Review of Tomorrow, When the War Began (2010) by Dillon K — 09 Nov 2012
A bit of a slow starter, but all in all a really good movie. What I particularly like about this movie is that even though the main characters are a bit over the top stereotypes, the acting is great and the story - after the invasion anyway - is in itself rather plausible and believable.
In a Hollywood-movie the kids would have overthrown the whole invading army by some totally incredible way or another, blown up their mothership (I´m sure the invaders would have been aliens) and sent the rest of them packing.
But since this is a aussie-movie it is much more down to earth. The characters evolve, their actions and decisions seem natural and logical. For you as a spectator it makes the movie come alive for you, it makes you care for the characters.
It makes for a good movie...
