Review of Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) by Cathy M — 03 Dec 2008
I want to say this movie is bad, but it's not. It's just boring. That's all there is to describe it, boring. Bond needs to save the world... from some jerkoff media guy. It's not a new plot (it has basically the same fucking ship from The Spy Who Loved Me), save for the fact that Pryce plays a new shitty "bad guy" in a plot I just didn't give a shit about. Michelle Yeoh is a boring Bond girl, trying to be a female version of Bond... and Chinese... there was little to no chemistry between Pierce and Michelle, and the film is dull because of this.
The worst part is probably the randomness of Bond having a previous relationship with Carver's wife, a relationship that no one gives a shit about, Carver himself doesn't even give a shit, and was thrown in attempt to shine a beam of emotion into Bond. It fucking fails.
