Review of Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) by Mark C — 08 Jan 2009
A few films every stick out like a sore thumb as ones that I liked much more than most of the public or critics did. Tomorrow Never Dies is definitely one of them. The creators realized that its plot was so silly that it would be pointless to focus on it. So we're given one action scene after another, and they don't disappoint. Brosnan also solidifies himself as the second best Bond in this one.
Granted, Terry Hatcher is forgettable, and Jonathan Pryce as the villain isn't exactly Goldfinger. And there is formula after formula of "Bondness". But so what! Let your brain sit this one out, and your senses and testosterone take over for a bit. I doubt you'll regret it.
