Review of Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) by Bill T — 10 Aug 2009

Just okay James Bond adventure this time. James Bond must prevent a media mogul trying to get Britain and China to start attacking each other. Pearce Brosnan and his usual players (Judi Dench, Desmond Llwelyn et al) are good, but it's the other stars in this movie that get me going.

For one thing, Jonathan Pryce should not be playing a James Bond heavy. No no. But since he is, we have to contend with watching his upper lip not moving for the whole darned movie. Michelle Yeoh is there to provide us with that whole East/West movie, which is really unneccesary.

. Oh look! She has a scene all to herself taking care of some Asian bad guys using kung fu! (yawn) The only saving grace is Gotz Otto as Pryce's henchman, who is pretty bad ass. But that's all.
