Review of Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) by Paul J — 26 Oct 2012
Prosnan's best Bond film succeeds mainly due to its consistent and solid storyline. It harks back to The Spy Who Loved Me. There are also some genuinely compelling character moments. That said, they certainly don't take any particular serious risks.
However, Brosnan makes a good Bond and best of all, Michelle Yeoh is a much-welcomed character; which I might add, was long overdue in the Bond series: a strong female sidekick. Their motorcycle chase is also a definite highlight.
She might be my second favorite Bond girl of all time (second only to Bond's wife). The only weak link is the villain who is pedestrian and paint by numbers. Otherwise, this is a solid and wholly entertaining action film - gotta love that remote control car.
