Review of Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) by Bryan F — 24 Feb 2013
I recently revisited this one and realized that it was actually better than I remembered. This time, Bond goes up against a media mogul who doesn't really want to rule the world, he just wants the exclusive broadcast rights.
Jonathan Pryce plays the villain with enough over-the-top glee to effectively sell it. Michelle Yeoh plays a different kind of leading lady, a tough Chinese spy with martial arts skills and cat-like reflexes.
Throw in an awesome gadget-filled BMW and great, fast-paced direction from Roger Spottiswood, and the result is a pretty decent Bond flick.
