Review of Tombstone (1993) by Dallas B — 20 Aug 2011
Flaws as it may have, as do any other biographical/historical western, Tombstone is just about the most entertaining western ever made. It is of epic proportions, and I'd only wish it was an hour longer.
The acting is superb, both by Kilmer and Russel, but also the minor parts are played flawlessly. The cinematography is great and the score is hair-risingly perfect! Small historical adjustements have been made in order to make the film more fluent, but I still miss some of the epic dwelling at characters.
But maybe that's just me, or because the characters are so awesomely portrayed. Val Kilmers best performance to date. Lots of wonderful one-liners and an epic score...al makes this a western masterpiece.
