I can't think of another movie that captures the Western genre better. First off just take a second and look at the cast they built for this. Just amazing. And everybody's performance is top notch.
Why Val Kilmer was never even nominated for an Oscar is just mind boggling. He steals every scene. Everything about this just makes me feel like I'm right there. The clothes and facial hair, settings, props, scenery, and especially the dialogue.
I love every line. And the camera work captures everything with such surgical skill. Hail to Cosmatos for making a Western that calls back to the days of John Ford and John Wayne.
