Review of Tombstone (1993) by Lee K — 12 Feb 2010
Ok the wife vacates the premises everytime this comes on our t.v. the reason being? It seems I have a nasty habit of reciting the lines to this most excellent western??? Yeahhh guilty on all charges! this movie is 10 times of great.
Fantastic cast, intense storyline and a smidgeon of romance in case you fellas out there want to entice your gals to watch it with ya. Just dont recite the script lol.Another of the Leebert awards for coolest viilains go to both Powers Boothe "Curly Bill" and Michael Biehn "Johnny Ringo" the showdowns throughout between him and Doc Halliday" Val Kilmer" are the coolest and intense I have ever seen in any western film.
Kilmer and Dennis Quaid (who played Doc in the other Earp story Wyatt Earp)both did great jobs however the winner would be hands down Kilmer why on earth he didnt get any kind of notice from the Academy is beyond me.
Then again Daniel Day Lewis was nominated that year if I recall correctly and lost to Tom Hanks, so kilmer might not even of had a chance against those heavy contenders, that being said he definatly was the charector to watch in this most awesomeness of awesome western.
