Review of Tomb Raider (2018) by Nicole H — 18 Jun 2018

I'm only 30 minutes into it and I'm having trouble staying awake.  It is so slow and boring... not at all what you would expect of anything with the name Tomb Raider on it.   This movie is somewhat based on one of the video games (a game I absolutely LOVE), but this movie is such a let down in comparison in terms of the storyline.

Beyond my complaint of the atypical pace of a Lara Croft movie in the beginning, certain parts of the plot don't make any sense (like the video of her dad asking her to burn the Himiko stuff even though that video was supposedly made 7 years prior and he could have burned it himself before he left).  Lots of holes!! And I'm having trouble respecting this version of Lara Croft as she seems weak and runs away from danger at times (instead of kicking butt) and makes really dumb decisions. The script has sub par dialogue and is weak in intelligence in other ways. Just hard to watch when the video game and past movies were so much better. So my advice is to save your money and skip it all together, or get it from Redbox.
