A story about a girl who rejects her missing father's fortune to deliver food for an Indian Restaurant, rides her bike into a police car, discovers her father went to an isolated Japanese island, ignores his plea to burn his research, hocks her father's gift for money to go to Hong Kong to hire a dilapidated freighter to go find her father, wrecks the ship, gets captured by bad guys who then get her fathers secret research book on to find a tomb, escapes, finds her dad, ignores his plea not to return to the bad guys to try to steal their sat phone, gets half a dozen others shot, misses an opportunity to arrow the baddy allowing her father and herself to be captured, volunteers to open the tomb for baddy despite desperate pleas from dad, belatedly discovers the superstitious legend is trying to prevent the release of a deadly disease.

Dad (whom she came to rescue) gets the disease blows himself and the disease to bits. She kills the bad guy, captures the helicopter which miraculously is able to fly to the remote island (and which she could have hired in the first place if she used the wealth available to her - accompanied by a mercenary army of her own), goes back to New York where she finally accepts her father's wealth (now that she got him blown up) and signs the management of his company and fortune over to the woman who was responsible for hiring the bad guys.

So it seems the authors have turned the Lara Croft character into a total, complete, idiot looser. The "horror" of the movie is that 62% of the audience said they liked it.
