Simple and straightforward adventure film. If you're expecting copy/paste from Tomb Raider 2013, you'll be disappointed. If you're expecting some highminded cinema, you'll also be disappointed.
The film was an unambitious origin story - and wasn't really trying to be anything more. Above average score was earned by Ms Vikander's representation of Lara Croft, thankfully removed from poorly aged Angelina Joline's over-the-top portrayal of one of the most famous gaming icons.
