Review of Tomb Raider (2018) by Jared Y — 27 Mar 2018
I think Alicia Vikander is a great Lara Croft and I've really enjoyed the beginning with an inexperienced Lara in combat and without being the rich heiress, but someone normal; the problem begins with the development of the plot, which is simple and they don't stop explaining it again and again as if we were stupid to get it, the father and daughter scenes are repetitive, bored and they don't have chemistry for you to believe it also and this hurts me so much is that is a movie whose action scenes are very similar to those of the new video games (almost the entire movie) but the characters are horrible, the villain's motivation and evil are pathetic and there is no group dynamics with the sailor (I don't remember his name) I still do not understand at what point he begins to worry so much about Lara to the point of risking his own life ...
It is a short and mediocre copie and paste of the stories and action scenes of both new video games but with mediocre and stereotyped characters, I miss the group dynamics that the characters of the video games or the old Lara Croft had.
