Review of Tom Jones (1963) by Carlos T — 08 Aug 2018
A fierce film from Tony Richardson which will make today?s audiences gasp at how handsome Albert Finney was in his youth. Tom Jones is an imperfect film about an imperfect character whose story is so outrageous, one can?t help but laugh. The lightheartedness of Richardson?s piece will certainly attract audiences who have an open mind about these sorts of films but may switch off those who seek something with a little extra clarity.
For first timers, try the Directors Cut, it?s shorter..
