Review of Tom at the Farm (2014) by John B — 12 Nov 2015
Nice to see Dolan branch out a bit more. There's more narrative here than his other films that I've seen, and the closest he's gotten to a more mainstream genre movie, though it's still more character based.
Probably the least interesting of his films visually, though still strongly photographed, just less flashy. I think this movie shows Dolan can handle larger scale and budget movies if he so desires, (I'm not talking the next Transformers, but he looks to be next working with A-list Hollywood actors, so for Dolan this is a huge step, and looking forward to see what he does with greater influence).
