Review of Tom and Jerry: The Movie (1992) by Ashley H — 09 Oct 2005

This is disappointing and plodding animated feature. I've always been a fan of this particular cartoon duo, and maybe fact that here they can speak English wouldn't have bothered me, if Jerry's annoying voice hadn't made him sound so much like a spoiled kid.

The film lacks wit and fast pacing of the short "Tom and Jerry" cartoons; songs are poor and unnecessary, and predictable, rarely interesting story meanders along. The likability of the title characters is film's only real redeeming element.
