Review of Tokyo Sonata (2008) by Adriel T — 27 Sep 2009
Every family does have a secret. This is no exception to a middle-class family symbolized in the movie Tokyo Sonata. No matter how hard you try to keep your secrets, someone will find it out anyway. The movie smartly tells the story about the secrets of a family, what are the implications of these 'keeping secrets' act and how does every single of the family member break apart trying to reach his/her own dreams.
This is clearly a small movie that everyone should watch. Emotionally driving, smartly directed and amazingly realistic. In the end, you might left the theater craving for tissue papers with its emotional, tear-jerking ending.
