Review of Tokyo Gore Police (2008) by Robin W — 22 Feb 2009
When a movie is named "Tokyo Gore Police" and more than delivers what it advertises... well, you can't really let little things like plot, character and logic get in the way. This may be the goriest, most blood-soaked movie the world will EVER see as characters literally spray blood from their bodies as if they had garden hoses built inside; at one point, the villain becomes a gory version of the Rocketeer when the spurting blood from his severed limbs actually propel him into the air like a jet pack!! But since the movie is so silly, over-the-top and completely devoid of realism in its bloodshed, it's impossible to become offended by the violence; the film is also incredibly creative as well, and when you're treated to such outrageous sights as a penis gun, an amputee with blades for limbs, and satirical commercials that endorse teenage girls cutting themselves with utility knives, you just don't care that nothing makes sense.
