Tokyo Gore Police is a film built on contradiction: it takes a great concept - a virus that allows people's injuries to sprout weapons - and mixes it with a bad screenplay and terrible special effects.
It's not that I don't see the value of camp or excess in horror films, just that I wanted Tokyo Gore Police to do something other than splatter the camera with blood over and over again. I wanted some more dialogue maybe, better direction.
..probably. There was just something fundamental missing from all the carnage, something that made the movie a failure.
