It's tough because I consider this more of a good movie rather than a good "anime". There isn't all the cutesy or overly violent or excessive stuff that is typical of the anime here that is imported in the states, but as a film overall it's funny and hearwarming and at times depressing, but in a good way.
Great characters, great story, just a great example of various character studies.
