Review of Tokyo Godfathers (2003) by Jordan S — 02 Sep 2007
Some of the most fun one can have watching a film on the first go. Not much in the way of re-watch potential, and shows its seams if one even so much as thinks about it afterwards. That's not to say that it's simply fluff - it does have emotional, intellectual and imaginative depth, but only just enough to hold all the fluff together for its duration.
Most importantly, it's no fun to watch on your own. Watch it with your friends, whoever they are, and as many as you can comfortably manage, and you're pretty much guaranteed a good night in. Oh, and you also need to watch it in winter.
It doesn't matter if Christmas has finished, but it does still need to be winter.
