Sorry for my lack of rotten reviews, I just haven't been seeing too many bad movies recently. I guess it might be that I'm not watching things at the moment that don't interest me. Don't worry maybe I'll have another rotten week soon where I only watch movies that I know I'll hate, or that everyone seems to hate. I know of a couple of bad movies that I haven't even finished yet that I could trying to watch and post reviews about.

Tokyo Godfathers is about that a group of two men and and one young girl who are all homeless for different reasons. They find a young child that was thrown out and they intend to find its mother. This journey takes them to many different places where each of them find out more about each other and themselves.

So as you can see Tokyo Godfathers got a ten. I know I've been giving out those a lot lately, but this movie really deserves it. Tokyo Godfathers is written and directed by Satoshi Kon who has done Millennium Actress and Paranoia Agent two things that I have absolute appreciation for. All three of these anime do so much to set themselves apart from other anime, but they still embrace where they're coming from.

A great example of this which I'm sure has been done before but I like it here is that Tokyo Godfathers has a realistic look to it, but as my friend ThirdMan pointed out to me, the characters will get more animated so to speak when they get highly emotional. Its a nice effect that doesn't take you out of the movie, but instead reminds you what it really is.

See as I was watching Tokyo Godfathers I thought it could of worked well as normal live action movie, but the minute that car crashed through that building and everything after that I knew that making this into a anime was the right choice, and I love it that much more. The animation in this movie really complements the story and there was no other choice that could of be made. And how are dancing buildings going to make sense in a live action film. Anyway go out and get this movie now, its one of the best movies I have ever seen.
