Review of Tokyo Drifter (1966) by Dylan M — 16 Feb 2008
It's a yakuza film with Godard style editing, Minelli use of color and features an ex-hitman who has his own theme song like the old singing cowboys movies. Seijun Suzuki was given a low budget by his studio and was expected to make a run of the mill action movie and he instead made this incredible masterpiece.
