Review of Tokyo Drifter (1966) by Doug J — 18 Sep 2010
If I had to categorize Suzuki's Tokyo Drifter, I'd venture to say that it's Japanese noir. An ex-gangster trying to leave his life behind decides to ditch town in order to spare those he loves.
So, he plans to just walk out and put his bad habits behind him. Ah, if only walking away from life in the Tokyo criminal underworld were that easy. Definitely check this one out if you're a fan of Japanese Cinema and guys like Kurosawa.
Stylish material.
