Review of To the Wonder (2013) by Alexander N — 05 Jan 2014
As was the case with Tree of Life, I suspect a lot of people went into this movie expecting some kind of conventional love story, with dialogue, or something. It's another of Malick's free-form visual poems.
For me, it was much more powerful and beautiful than any movie about love than any conventional narrative would have been. If you understand and love Malick, you'll like this movie. If you like things like The English Patient, go and fuck yourself.
