Review of To the Wonder (2013) by Andrea M — 11 Apr 2013
Saw this at the Museum of the Moving Image last week. Most people don't get Malick and don't have the patience to pay attention to the nuance of the cinematography. Malick engages the audience to watch and make their own emotional connection to the film.
As are all of Malick's films, the visual aspect is the strongest, and the images in this film are truly wonderful. The fact that the story line needs to be interpreted individually and remains loosely anchored in the emotions of the viewer is classic Malick.
