Review of To the Wonder (2013) by Troy P — 14 Apr 2013
Equal parts brilliant and frustrating, this is not for everyone. Some will see only a bunch of images and a overly simple love triangle. Others will experience Malick's philosophical and anthropological observation of a society, absent of faith and love, in utter decline.
For the latter, it's a dark, disturbing and overwhelmingly moving film. It's definitely Malick's least accessible and most challenging film, but it's also another one that I deeply admire.
