Review of To the Wonder (2013) by John T — 24 Apr 2013
I didn't enjoy this one nearly as much as I did Tree Of Life, but that's not to say it was bad. Terrence Malick is a visual filmmaker, and it absolutely shows here. Most of the shots are visually striking.
On the whole, this is a meditative film that looks gorgeous, but not one I could see myself re-watching every so often like, say, Samsara or Baraka. I hope Malick keeps doing what he does best, though, because it's always standout in some way or another.
