Review of To the Wonder (2013) by Jason T — 26 Apr 2013
The visually poetic medium Malik creates here worked better with the larger ideas in his fantastic "The Tree of Life", a hauntingly original feast for the eyes and soul and a transcendent experience in which one must abandon all rules of film critique in favor of feeling the art that Malik paints in front of you.
This film, however, fails to keep the viewer's attention due to a glacial pace, an extremely heavy mood, and a lack of profundity and plot, despite the gorgeous imagery displayed.
