Review of To the Wonder (2013) by Dany F — 19 Aug 2013
Kind of a joke. Malick's attempt to capture "real" moments not only destroys the performances of his actors but renders all those pretty pictures dull and pointless. Less a movie than a shot list.
The performances are mostly on the cutting room floor and what's left isn't much more than posing for the camera. I actually felt bad for the actors at a certain point. An empty exercise masquerading as something deep.
