Review of To the Bone (2017) by Anthony K — 15 Jul 2017
As good a film as has ever been made about this subject, and perhaps the best that ever will. It's very realistic in the way that the struggle is portrayed, the tactics employed by addicts, the toll that it can wreak on a family.
...I personally suffered with this disorder for several years, and required a couple of in patient stints. All of this is very well represented, and acted. I can't go any higher on the film, though, because as other critics have pointed out, the non-lead characters are sketched pretty thinly.
I can't go any lower, though, because I believe a film like this can and will legitimately help people with this incredibly deadly disease.
