Review of To Sir, with Love (1967) by Peter K — 10 May 2007
I just saw this movie last week on TV, and I thought well it's probably a boring old movie. but it actually deals with alot of problems teenagers go through, and (in my opinion) how much stress and obediance a guy can deal with.
The movie deals a man named Mark Thackeray who becomes a teacher at a high school. I don't know how I only caught up 20 mins in. The kids he teaches are rude, talkative, and think they are adults already (they all come from a bad neighbourhood).
And with all the interruptions and disturbances throughout a single day, no work gets done. One day, after a certain antic that makes him freak out, he throws out evry text book in the room and declares he will be teaching them how to become responsible adults.
He covers marriage, how they will soon be interested in the opposite sex (as if they weren't already, they're friggin teenagers), and all that crap. Eventually he gains their trust, and the kids graduate and move on.
The ending is pretty cool. He is sitting at his desk examining a job offer to whatever (i forget), and some disturbed hoodlums walk in and say "We'll be in your bleeding class next term" (they're english).
he then rips up the offer and..... FIN. cool movie check it out.
