Review of To Save a Life (2009) by Dave G — 09 Feb 2010
A high-school jock (Randy Wayne) is overwhelmed with guilt and questions when his childhood friend shoots himself on campus. You see, when Randy became part of the in crowd freshman year, his unfortunate friend was left out and ignored.
So Randy, ever-so cute and tasty (ok I know it has nothing to do with the movie but he is!), starts hanging out with a Christian youth group, hoping to get answers. His tramp girlfriend (Deja Kreutzberg) and beer pong jock friends disapprove.
Overwraught teen drama with good intentions, it brings up valid points about religion and faith, and things are wrapped up with a way too perfect ending. Still, direct-to-DVD horror/exploitation vet Wayne handles his role nicely and it's nice to see an independent production go to theatres nowadays.
