Review of To Save a Life (2009) by Ryan A — 23 Apr 2010
I just had to laugh when I saw that although mainstream reviewers gave it just a 29% approval rating, the rest of us actually LOVED it, giving it an 87% approval rating.
You can read the synopsis above, but I can tell you this was an AMAZING film. It is very real, and unlike most "Christian" movies, virtually all the acting was believable. It was also very challenging to actually live out your faith, and not just go with the flow; at the same time, it presented Christianity from the non-Christian's perspective (showcasing many of the downfalls in "religion" in a very convicting way), which makes it a great film to invite non-Christians to. It deals with many real teen issues, such as cutting, pregnancy, abortion, drinking, etc. Therefore, it does earn its PG-13 rating, and I probably wouldn't take anyone younger than 14 to this film, but I still highly recommend it, as it was very moving to me and everyone I talked to that saw it.
