Review of To Save a Life (2009) by David Ray G — 23 Jul 2010
Another movie I waited for a while and turned out to be completely disappointing. I don't know what's up with movies and Christianity lately, but I'm sick of them already. This whole "I was saved when I accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior" is too much for me to handle. I have no issue with movies that are pro-religion, but I wish they'd give the subject differently.
Plus which, this movie is completely miscast and badly acted. Really badly acted. The two main characters (Jake and Amy) are dreadful - didn't believe them or their love for a second. And the whole change of heart was silly. Some characters were likable, but they didn't help the movie.
A huge let-down. As a movie, as a content, as a technical accomplishment - as everything.
