Review of To Save a Life (2009) by Caryn W — 21 Aug 2010
I was hoping for a movie that would make the youth of my parish think. However, after two hours I was left with the feeling that I was watching a series of bad back to school movies all rolled into one film.
Though the film contained many interesting points that one could expand on if reviewed individually, they just got buried in the numerous problems of these high school youth. The message of the movie was not clearly defined as it could have been.
This movie could have been about teen suicide, teen relationship with God, teen relationship with their peers, teen drinking, teen sex, cutting, abortion issues, bullying, drug problems......I feel the original message of the film got buried and two hours will not hold a lot of kids attention.
