Review of To Rome with Love (2012) by Jarred C — 09 Dec 2012
This must be one of the few films to be ruined by both its opening and its closing. Nothing in it is of any consequence. It makes no sense and, to be honest, by the end of it making sense wouldn't have saved it. The premise appears to be "A bunch of different people go to Rome and meet some other people and interact in a humourless and painful manner".
In the end one must come to the conclusion that Woody Allen is now a gun-for-hire for the tourist boards of major European cities. What's next? "Salsa in Salzburg" or "Kissing in Copenhagen"?
