Review of To Rome with Love (2012) by Anthony P — 11 Apr 2013
While many may disagree, I found To Rome with Love to have quite the creative sense as it left the viewer open for interpretation which is highly engaging. My main concern with this film was that the timelines of each individual story didn't seem to match, at all, which got disorientating.
That kept aside, I think it acceptable that the four stories didn't have the inter-linkage that movies often strive to achieve; this was refreshing, if not relieving. The factor that brings my rating down is the polarity of the stories.
While I dearly enjoyed that of Baldwin's character, I found the story of Benigni's character exhausting. The humor, setting and cinematography was simply pleasing.
