Provoking and darkly comical. Volver is a powerful and empowering story about the strength of women, a tale of determination and somewhat odd family values. Pedro Almodóvar's beautiful direction helps make Volver a stylistic masterpiece with beautiful cinematography and witty as well as touching writing.
It is lead by a passionate and determined performance from Penelope Cruz which raises it to even higher levels of greatness. I highly recommend it.
