Review of To Live and Die in L.A. (1985) by Samurai A — 30 Aug 2014
A supercharged adrenaline thriller that ceases not to entertain its viewer in almost every cinematic way possible. This film feeds on corruption and crime and is a brilliant example of what all chase movies must be like; fast-paced,bold,clever and virtually heart stopping,an example of the latter would be the films brilliant highway chase sequence which makes every movie goer wonder how that scene was actually shot.
The movie is actually realistic, every federal cop/agent knows that if you live by the sword you die by the sword.William L. Petersen delivers us a brilliant performance and truly proves that no other actor was ment for his role.
Whilst Willem Dafoe plays an ingenious antagonist created by William Friedkin. The movie is trully entertaining and is by far one of the greatest thrillers of all time. Not to mention one of the greatest movies to be set in Los Angeles.
