Review of To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) by Tom M — 17 Jul 2010
Not a perfect movie, but awfully good, and always a pleasure to watch. The trial stuff seems a little hokey today--folks have lived in this town their whole lives yet don't see the 'reveal' coming? really?--but otherwise there's little to fault here.
Peck is superlative and the kids more than hold their own. The central focus on the kids, rather than the adult action they observe, is ultimately what makes this film so special.
