Review of To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) by Nate J — 02 Oct 2011
I'm putting this film, metaphorically, 'up there' with my favourite films of all time. It is just an incredible, hard hitting movie. I find it hard to see people from any other race or background any different to me. In this life, you earn respect based on your actions and how you treat people. Not because of the colour of your skin.
It also makes you think about morals. Is it fair to allow one man to die because he allowed another to die? It's all about perspective with this film, and you can't help but become emotionally attached.
My wife read the book, told me I'd enjoy it and it came up as the twenty fifth film on my AFI film list. I didn't think I would be that pumped about it, but I couldn't have been more wrong.
Make sure you read the book or watch the film, just incredible!!
