Review of To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) by Josh G — 19 Feb 2013
I like Gregory Peck, but this film did not land emotionally the way I would have liked. I think I had myself too hyped and had unreasonable expectations. The famous closing statement is a good scene, but the film as a whole does not hold a candle to the films of hollywood directors like Hitchcock and Wilder, or foreign directors such as Kurosawa and Bergman.
Though I like the film okay, there are definitely better films from the postwar era.
