Review of To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) by Tanner B — 25 Jul 2015
-IGNORE THIS "OUT OF FIVE" RATING.
4/4.
Classic adaption of Harper Lee's Novel really does feel every bit like the book. Lit on fire by Gregory Peck's truly unforgettable performance as lawyer Atticus Finch who tries to win a case everyone else says is an impossibility. Robert Mulligan's spellbinding direction creates a world all in its own, and invites us in by a perfect cast and a evocative screenplay (by Horton Foote). Beautiful, black-and-white Russell Harlan photography, moving Elmer Bernstein score. Oscars went straight to Peck, Foote, and Art Direction.
