Review of To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) by Petros T — 16 Mar 2016
Robert Mulligan and Horton Foote might have left out big chunks of the book in order to offer a concise script but remain true to the source material's spirit. Gregory Peck is very likable as the father and is particularly strong in the courtroom scenes, in which Brock Peters also shines in a realistic, moving performance.
Kudos should also be extended to the kids, especially Mary Badham as Scout. It's not without its flaws but serves as an overall powerful, resonant rendition of a great novel.
