Review of To Have and Have Not (1945) by Nathaniel J — 14 Dec 2007
If not for the undeniable chemistry between screen legends Bogey and Bacall, this would only be a three star picture...much like several of Hawks later films (Rio Bravo, El Dorado, etc.) this "Casablanca" play-off features a woman who is willing to do virtually anything for the love of one man.
..it's almost silly in such circumstances, but hey it's the mid forties and Bogey was indeed the essence of cool...I'm sold.
